Postecoglou was furious with his Tottenham players after a poor first-half performance against Chelsea.

Tottenham were looking to reply in style against Mauricio Pochettino’s team after losing the north London derby the previous Saturday.

However, their poor start was punished when Trevoh Chalobah scored to give Chelsea the lead.

In the 32nd minute, Postecoglou lost his cool on the touchline and expressed his frustration to his players.

He screamed, ‘Stop passing it backwards!’ and pointed at Pape Matar Sarr and Cristian Romero.

Karen Carney, who worked as a pundit for Sky Sports, stated she had never seen Postecoglou was so frustrated earlier.

‘Angry Angel! “I’ve never seen him so angry and animated,” she said

‘They kept getting into midfield and giving it away, and it’s all about Johnson and Son;

they missed the ball, lost possession, and gave away the free kick that led to the goal.’

Carney continued, ‘Well, they keep playing into that midfield and losing the ball instead of giving your top players a 1v1;

we haven’t seen enough of them, and that front three with Kulusevski at the core has done nothing.

Postecoglou eventually made the substitutions shortly after the hour mark, as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg,

James Maddison, and Rodrigo Bentancur replaced Sarr, Yves Bissouma, and Richarlison.

However, Tottenham’s evening turned sour after Chelsea doubled their lead after 72 minutes.

Cole Palmer fired a fantastic free kick that hit the post before Nicolas Jackson headed in the rebound.
