Jets: Breece Hall’s $43,000 fine gets final ruling after appeal

Breece Hall, the running back for the New York Jets, prevails in his appeal against the NFL about a fine

he was assessed for a play against the Falcons.

New York Jets running back Breece Hall can breathe a sigh of relief.

According to NFL Network, the NFL is waiving the $43,709 fine it levied on Hall for a play he made in a

game against the Atlanta Falcons in December.

During the game, Hall was on the field making a play and lowered his body into defender A.J.

Terrell of the Atlanta Falcons. After the play, Terrell sustained an injury despite making the tackle.

Terrell ultimately entered concussion protocols, and the NFL later penalized Hall for what they

considered to be unwarranted roughness.

At the time, Hall publicly disagreed with the NFL’s ruling and filed an appeal.

This is the most recent in a slew of fines the NFL has applied to plays this season that were not flagged during games.

A number of players, including Hall, have publicly criticized the league for imposing fines following games.

This season, Hall was the one bright spot in a lackluster Jets offense.

Upon 223 carries, he concluded the season with 994 running yards and five touchdowns.

In the season’s final game, Hall went bonkers, running 37 times for 178 yards and a touchdown to help

the Jets defeat the New England Patriots.

Despite playing strong defense, the Jets’ 2023 season ended with a disappointing 7-10 record.

In the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Hall was selected.

At Iowa State, where he played collegiate football, he was twice selected as the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year (2020 and 2021). Every one of those seasons also saw him named to the First Team All-Big 12.
