Saturday’s Premier League match between Newcastle United and Leicester City was postponed.

The Magpies take on the Foxes at St. James’ Park (kick-off 3pm GMT)

looking for a response following last weekend’s defeat at Brentford,

and Bramall has been tasked with keeping order on Tyneside.

It will be the Sheffield-born official’s first fixture involving the

Magpies’ first team this term – although he did referee United under-21s’ 3-0

Vertu Trophy defeat at Mansfield Town earlier in the season.

He also started the campaign on Tyneside, with his first outing coming at the

Gateshead International Stadium for the Heed’s 1-0 National League win over

Solihull Moors in October. Four of his seven games so far have come in the Championship,

with just one in the top flight – Wolves’ 2-0 win at home to Southampton in November.

The former PE teacher was promoted to the Select Group Two list of officials,

who referee primarily in the Championship, three years ago. Bramall was in the middle for two

Magpies games at St. James’ Park last term – the 2-0 win over Burnley and the 4-4 draw with

Luton Town – as well as the 2-0 reverse at Crystal Palace.
