Despite interest from Premier League teams in the goalkeeper,

Rangers are sure they can keep Jack Butland at Ibrox this summer, according to TeamTalk.

Despite Butland’s stellar first season at Ibrox, which culminated in his recent award as Rangers’ player of the year,

interest in the 31-year-old has only increased ahead of the summer window.

Several clubs expressed interest in signing Butland in January of last year, including Nottingham Forest.

However, since he hasn’t yet played a full season at Ibrox, the club is well-positioned to hold onto his services.

The report from TeamTalk stated that Butland, who might surprise everyone by being named in England’s Euro 2024 squad,

has not asked to leave and that the Gers will quickly reject any offers for the goalkeeper,

who they anticipate will open the 2024–25 season at Ibrox. This summer, will the Rangers retain Jack Butland?

Given that Butland, 31, has shown to be an incredibly reliable backup goalie this season,

it makes sense that Rangers have no plans to cash in on him before the next campaign begins.

Butland, who has maintained a league-high 18 clean sheets this season and is a lock to win the Golden Glove,

is the main reason the Gers have only allowed 25 goals to be scored in the Premiership.

That defense is the strongest in the league,

and Philippe Clement will view keeping Butland on the team as essential to leading the team to another championship the next season,

given the likelihood of several backline players leaving this summer.

Though they only have three points separating them and the Hoops,

the Gers are still very much in the running for the title this year and will visit their bitter rivals Celtic on May 11.

In his most recent game, against Celtic,

Butland was defeated in the first sixty seconds and gave up two more goals in a tumultuous 3-3 draw at Ibrox.

Rangers, along with Butland, will be aiming for a much lower scoring total in this encounter.

Should the goalkeeper be able to record clean sheet number 19 at Parkhead,

the Gers will have a great opportunity to flip the Premiership title battle around.

In other Rangers news, Ben Davies is expected to receive a rare start

from Philippe Clement in the team’s Old Firm title matchup against Celtic.
