Peko, an experienced defensive lineman, joins the Lions after stints with four other NFL teams since entering the league in 2016 as an undrafted free agent. Notably, he appeared in 13 games for the Tennessee Titans last season, establishing a connection with new Lions’ defensive line coach Terrell Williams.

At 31 years old, Peko brings a veteran presence to the Lions’ defensive line, boasting 56 career tackles, two sacks, and four tackles for loss across his NFL career.

The addition of Peko adds depth to a Lions’ defensive line that has seen multiple upgrades this offseason, including the signing of DJ Reader and the drafting of Mekhi Wingo from LSU in the 2024 NFL Draft. With the emergence of second-year player Brodric Martin and a strong defensive performance against the run last season, the Lions aim to maintain their defensive prowess in the upcoming 2024 season.

Peko’s collegiate career began at Cerritos College before transferring to Oregon State, where he recorded impressive statistics in his one year with the team, notching 45 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and two sacks.
