The Chiefs’ current lease is coming to an end, and owner Clark Hunt announced on Saturday that the team is now exploring other locations. This is because Jackson County, Missouri voters decisively rejected a sales tax plan that would have helped finance renovations to the 52-year-old structure.
With more transplants than any other state in the last year, Texas continues to operate as a de facto transplant powerhouse, according to the most recent US Census data.
The largest state in the Lower 48, with 254 counties and a population larger than many countries, had an increase in population of about 475,000 during that time, with data indicating that certain hotspots are experiencing rapid growth.
