Graeme Souness in fierce on-air clash over Celtic vs Rangers stance

Souness, who was accused of “bias” by Simon Jordan in an on-air ding dong,

launched a strong defence of Rangers’ chances against Celtic.

The argument between the two stemmed from Souness’s assertion that Rangers are good enough to defeat

Celtic in both the league finale and the Scottish Cup final the following month.

Although Souness acknowledged that Celtic is the team to lose,

he maintained that there isn’t much between the two teams this season.

“Celtic has to lose,” Souness declared on talkSPORT.

“You’re still hoping Celtic drops something elsewhere because of the goal differential if Rangers can go there and win.”

Yes, to put it simply. The Rangers haven’t won the league yet this season,

but there’s still hope if they defeat their greatest opponent, regardless of which side of the city they play on.

You just have to win every game for Rangers, which is difficult,

and then travel to Parkhead and win a football match.

Then, you have to hope that Celtic drops some points along the way or scores enough goals to make up the goal differential.

“I saw them play a significant portion of the second half with 10 men when they lost 2-1 at Parkhead,

and I felt they were well-prepared that day and appeared to be the team that would score goals in the second half after Celtic,

as they usually do at Parkhead, started like a house on fire.

Then came the match at Ibrox, when the Rangers struggled early on and Celtic took control of the game,

which ought to have been over by halftime.

After regrouping, Rangers significantly outperformed the other team in the second half.

There’s not much between the two teams. Naturally, Philippe Clement has the team to defeat Hampden and Celtic Park.

Jordan, a well-known pundit, retorted, “Based upon what? They are yet to defeat Celtic.”

But Souness didn’t take long to respond, saying, “I’ve just told you why I think that.”

Jordan, meanwhile, was not going down without a fight, claiming that Souness’ position stemmed from his “Rangers bias”.

Jordan remarked, “That’s because you’re displaying your Rangers bias.

” “They haven’t really defeated Celtic and they haven’t really laid a glove on them,

and all of that puts them in a position where they don’t win this league because they don’t defeat their main rival.

”Souness retaliated against the claim by saying, “I’ve been in the media for a long time.

” the final 17 years. And you always make an effort… After watching Middlesbrough,

Tottenham, and Liverpool, I ask myself, “Am I biased, am I biased?” However,

I believed that Rangers could have won with ten men at Parkhead even though Celtic may have been out of sight at halftime.

And it was the same story a few weeks ago at Ibrox. Despite being utterly outmatched and outfought,

they might have been able to win the game on a different day. What then am I saying?

Just don’t go two goals behind and start strong the next time.In response, Souness stated, “I’ve been in the media for a long time.

” the last 17 years. And you always try your hardest…

Having watched Tottenham, Liverpool, and Middlesbrough, I wonder,

“Am I biased, am I biased?” Though Celtic could have been out of sight at halftime,

I thought Rangers could have won at Parkhead with 10 men.

And at Ibrox, a few weeks prior, it was the same tale.

On a different day, they might have been able to win the game despite being completely outmatched and outfought.

So what am I saying? But the next time, start off strong and avoid falling behind by two goals.

For Rangers, the goal is to mount their comeback. Between now and the end of the season, they must win every game.

They responded by defeating a formidable Hearts squad. By then, their season will have been successful.

“After ninety minutes, I thought Rangers’ draw at Ibrox was superior to Celtic’s.

I was setting up shop in both changing areas.

I lead 2-0 in the half, but it comes back to 2-2 before Celtic wins 3-2 in the 91st minute,

giving Rangers a point even though they should have won. After that game, Rangers players are ecstatic,

while Celtic players will feel like they lost ground.

“I predict that Rangers will take over here after that.

I was thinking, “Get back to basics, make sure we’re really on it for the next game,” because it was kind of a wake-up call.

However, they weren’t and got trapped, which is a possibility in football.

And there was the game of Dundee. However, they responded on Sunday.
