Chris Jack responds to the latest Rangers player injury report, calling it a “huge blow” to the cards

Chris Jack has acknowledged that Ridvan Yilmaz’s injury will deal Rangers a “huge blow,”

as many are already anticipating the worst given the club has not yet released the diagnosis.

Yilmaz sustained an injury while playing for Turkey on international duty;

he was substituted after just 30 minutes of play due to the knock.

Jack told us that we still don’t know the full degree of the injury because the team hasn’t released a statement,

but he acknowledged that his absence would be a major setback and quite typical for Rangers.

“It sums up Rangers’ season,” Jack said in a statement on The Rangers Review [25 March].

Given his knowledge of Rangers, he’s most likely done for the season.

Since the Rangers have not yet made a complete diagnosis,

folks are justified to dread the worst. However, we do not yet know that.

“We’re not sure if he’s out for the duration of this weekend or more.

Rangers would suffer a great deal since, over the past few months, he has shown himself to be an extremely valuable member of the team.

Ridvan Yilmaz’s injury is yet another setback for Rangers.

Yilmaz now joins a lengthy list of players at Ibrox who have sustained long-term injuries this season amid a challenging year,

including Abdallah Sima, Ross McCausland, Dujon Sterling, Ryan Jack, Todd Cantwell, Oscar Cortes, Kieran Dowell, and many more.

Philippe Clement will be especially hurt by Yilmaz’s departure because the Turkish left-back,

who had been linked to a move throughout January, had finally been playing well at Ibrox and demonstrating his abilities.

Yilmaz had taken the starting position due to Borna Barisic’s lack of playing time—the Croatian has struggled this season and appears likely to leave when his contract expires—but the Croatian may now be added back into the mix.

Other options include Ben Davies and Sterling playing out of position,

as we have seen at times this season due to injuries, but Clement’s goals for his squad will ultimately determine that choice.
