The likelihood of a return for the Denver Broncos quarterback is continuing to dwindle.

Since the 2023 NFL season has ended, discussions about the quarterback position with the Denver Broncos have not ceased.

Russell Wilson was benched unexpectedly in the final quarter of the season, raising concerns

about his long-term future at the Mile High.

The prospect of a comeback is now starting to seem less plausible.

Wilson and his spouse Ciara are anticipated to entertain offers for their Denver home,

which they bought when he joined the Broncos, according to a tweet from Zac Stevens of DNVR:

Russ and Ciara had to pay $25 million for the 25,000 square foot estate when they bought it.

It appears that the couple is now focused on a possible sale in less than two years.

Wilson may or may not be in the blue and orange come season, but all indications are beginning to lean in that direction.

The Broncos would have to cut him before March 17 in order to avoid having to pay the additional money

if they wanted to forego his fully guaranteed deal for the upcoming campaign.

Still, it would mean that a league-high $85 million in dead money would be recorded.

Alternatively, the Broncos might go with a less expensive quarterback under centre,

maybe aiming for a quarterback in the first round of the draft or perhaps a less expensive player in free agency.

Finding a better match for Sean Payton’s offensive scheme and guiding this team into the postseason are the main objectives,

regardless of the person selected for the position.

Regarding Russell Wilson, if he were released, teams in need of a quarterback, such as the Pittsburgh Steelers,

Atlanta Falcons, or Las Vegas Raiders, might be interested in acquiring the six-time Pro Bowler.

Though it doesn’t seem like it will be displayed at the Mile High, the 36-year-old signal-caller

still appears to have some energy left in the tank.
