‘Exceptional’: Barry Ferguson thinks 29-year-old’s Rangers form is down to simplifying his game

Barry Ferguson believes one Rangers player has benefitted hugely under Philippe Clement, who has helped simplify his game.

Ferguson believes Todd Cantwell, who has five goals in his previous eight league appearances according to Transfermarkt,

has been very impressive in recent months and might be the key to Rangers’ title challenge.

Ferguson, however, has been most impressed by midfielder John Lundstram since Clement’s arrival at Ibrox,

and he believes he has been the most consistent player for Rangers this season.

Furthermore, our former captain is quite impressed with his leadership abilities in the middle of the pitch and his willingness to yell at his teammates when necessary.

He replied: “Well, since the new manager took over, the most consistent performer –

and he may not have been man of the match every single game – John Lundstram stood out for me like a sore thumb.”

“He’s just played that pivot in front of the two centre-backs, and he’s simplified his game,

which I believe has elevated his game a level or two.

“So he is one player. I’m sure the manager will be eager to sign a new contract because we all know he is out of contract in the summer.

The Rangers will be desperate to get”He’s arguably playing his best football since signing with Rangers.

He appears to be a true leader on the field, and the other players clearly look up to him.
