Brendan Rodgers admits a job change and is thrilled about the possibilities of his summer signing for Celtic.
Yang Hyun-Jun, a superstar from South Korea, has a bright future at Celtic, according to Brendan Rodgers.
The 21-year-old arrived to Parkhead as one of ten summer recruits, and he has already made 23 appearances.
Though he has only scored once and provided an assist,
the £2.1 million acquisition from Gangwon FC still has a lot of opportunity for growth.
During his first half-year in Glasgow,
Yang has demonstrated glimpses of his potential but has found it difficult to be consistent.
Oh Hyeongyu, an attacker and fellow citizen,
just got back to Lennoxtown after competing for South Korea in the Asian Cup.
Both players played brief cameos in Sunday’s 2-0 Scottish Cup victory over St Mirren,
and Rodgers believes Yang has the potential to become one of the Hoops’ best players.
“He’s a player that I think can do really well,” the manager said on Celtic TV.
All that needs to happen is to bring him in. He has primarily played on the right side of the field.
“However, the more I see him practice, the more I believe that while he can play on the right,
his best position is off the left, where his sprinting ability will be useful when the game starts.
“Awareness of when to release the pass and make the cross is one of his areas for improvement, but these are all things that will come with additional training and development. However, I adore his approach and the enthusiasm he brings to the game, and I have no doubt that he will keep getting better.”
