Philippe Clement could sign a World-class Strikers for free this summer
This summer, top striker Philippe Clement may sign for nothing. Rangers’ January transfer window went really well.
With the early arrival of Oscar Cortes on loan, the £4.5 million-priced Mohamed Diomande, and the young Oscar
Silva entering with an option in the summer, it can also be seen as a successful one. The crowd seemed happy with
the outcome and added more players to the team, with Nils Koppen’s first window looking promising.
With Abdallah Sima and Danilo both out for the foreseeable future, it’s possible that you saw one or two small
grievances regarding the absence of another striking option on social media on February 2. They retained Ridvan
Yilmaz, who joined Ibrox with Borna Barisic, and Jefte is expected to arrive in the summer despite not having a new
left-back.
Despite having some money to spend, Football Scotland looked at strikers who might be available in July, likely on
loans or free transfers, as CFO James Taylor stated this afternoon.
Michy Batshuay
Though only temporarily, the 30-year-old showed himself to be a viable option for the Rangers during the January
transfer window. The attacker for Fenerbahce was unable to sign a new contract in Turkey, so in the summer he will
look for a new team. If Clement and his staff can put together a compelling case, they may be able to negotiate again
for a longer-term deal.
Theodore McBurnie
A devoted supporter of the Green Bay Packers, his contract expires in the summer. Though his Premier League
record isn’t as stellar, the Scotland international is a master scorer in the English Championship with Sheffield
United; you would think the level would fit him more in Scotland’s Premiership. Despite having been a high-profile
acquisition for other teams, the 27-year-old might be sold to the Gers for a few million dollars in a year if they can
sign him for nothing.
Rodrigo Muniz
Under Marco Silva, Muniz, 22, has spent the entire Premier League season as a reserve for Fulham, thanks to Raul
Jimenez. He has made 14 appearances this season in all competitions, the vast majority of which have come off the
bench. After stints at Middlesbrough and Fulham—where he won the Championship—he might be available for loan
at the start of the following campaign. He gives the Gers something inside the box that they don’t usually have: a target.
The striker has been a longtime target for the team from his boyhood, and even if they declined to make an approach
in January, they might be more inclined to do so in the summer, when his current deal expires in less than a year.
Steven Naismith could have to make a decision to recover as much money as possible if he keeps rejecting offers,
which might pave the way for the Ibrox club.
