Alfredo Morelos’ Santos career has hardly resumed when reports appear associating the Colombia international with a return to Europe.

The former Ibrox hero was part of the squad that won their most recent game, contributing significantly to the critical second goal.

Alfredo Morelos’ time at Rangers had him connected with some of Europe’s best teams,

but the latest speculation says that sticking at Santos would be a far better option, according to The Glasgow Times.

Alfredo Morelos could jump ship from Santos

When he was at Rangers, there looked to be a lot of interest from Turkey, but the only serious offers came from China and France.

Morelos’ choice to finish his contract was supposed to provide him all the opportunities he had always desired,

including a move to one of Europe’s top five leagues.

Instead, clubs from Russia and Azerbaijan made proposals, despite ongoing speculations of a return to Glasgow.

Santos making an offer, although being halfway through their season,

would have been fantastic if it hadn’t been for fitness concerns and injury,

which limited him to just 76 minutes in the renowned white shirt.

However, the start of current season appears to be more hopeful,

thus it is surprising to see Samsunspor being touted as a potential loan buyer.

Santos is desperate for cash, so gaining a large earner – despite his recent cut – might be music to their ears,

especially one with such little impact.

However, it is apparent that he wants to return to Europe, as his agency announced shortly after signing for Santos.

“Plans for the winter: a return to Europe. A move to Russia would be simply fantastic.”

I’m not sure why he’d want to relocate to Russia, which is still subject to FIFA and UEFA limitations; he’s not getting paid pennies already.

Alfredo Morelos always seemed to be getting bad advice at Rangers,

and it appears that similar circumstances are interfering with his tenure at Santos as well.

At 27 years old, he needs to focus on what counts most: playing football and scoring goals.

All he has to do is chat with his old Ibrox teammate Ryan Kent to realise that playing in Turkey may not be the answer he seeks.
