The conditions of a contract extension between Rangers and John Lundstram are being finalized, and Chris Jack

reports that talks between the two parties are “on track.”

Since the Belgian player came to Ibrox, the English midfielder has been an integral component of Philippe Clement’s

midfield, emerging as one of the first names on the team sheet with strong showings against teams like St. Mirren and Hibernian.

Lundstram’s contract in Glasgow is set to expire at the end of the season, but Rangers Review journalist Jack has

insisted that talks over an extension are progressing and it is just down to the

Gers when they make the announcement.

He stated, “As far as I know, it is still very much on course. The manager said that he was keen to keep him after the

Dumbarton game,” in a video posted on the Rangers Review YouTube channel on February 8.

“I know John has expressed a desire to stay, and from the sounds of things, it’s just a matter of settling on the terms

before Rangers make the announcement.”

Philippe Clement wants to keep John Lundstram at Rangers

The middle of the park has been an area of concern for Clement since he arrived at Ibrox, with injuries to the likes of

Ryan Jack, Lundstram and Tom Lawrence seeing the Belgian’s options

incredibly limited throughout the campaign.

But Lundstram has been available every week and has put on some incredible performances; commentators are

amazed by his “wonderful” passing range and think that tying him down should be the Gers’ top concern.

The 29-year-old’s stay at Ibrox appears to have been extended by the Light Blues, who appear to have heeded his

wishes. He won’t be a surefire starter because of the January signings, but he will undoubtedly contribute.

Few players in the Rangers camp are better than Lundstram in the biggest games where there is a need for greater

control and a little elegance in the middle of the park.

One of Clement and the Rangers’ biggest moves this season might be to secure his future.

In other Rangers news, Barry Ferguson has expressed his opinion about this season’s

championship match between the Celtics and the Gers.
