BBC Sportsound pundit slaughters Rangers for ‘absolutely horrific’ incident at Ibrox v Aberdeen
Rangers gave up an “absolutely horrific” goal against Aberdeen according to former Gers striker, Steven Thompson.
Rangers held off Aberdeen as Neil Warnock took charge of his opponents for the first time,
winning 2-1 at Ibrox on Tuesday, February 6, after a frantic conclusion that saw Dujon Sterling sent off.
Thompson slammed his previous club on BBC Sportsound (6 February) after Bojan Miovski equalised for Aberdeen at Ibrox.
“I believe Rangers have been wasteful at times in the last third.
For a club that has been defending so brilliantly and conceding so few goals,
losing that goal was just horrible.
“Miovski completed it beautifully, and it simply flattens this Rangers fans.
“They understand how important this game is tonight.”
All ends well for the Rangers.
In the end, Philippe Clement won’t have many complaints because his squad was able to cross the line and score a significant three points.
However, it is difficult to disagree with Thompson,
and the Belgian will undoubtedly be frustrated with how his players enabled Warnock’s side to get back into the game.
While it didn’t mean much in the end, things could have gone differently,
and it was a preventable error.
So many things about the goal were sloppy from a Rangers perspective and Connor Goldson in particularhttps://sportviewers.com was left with egg on his face.
Allowing the ball to bounce and Miovski to get the better of him would not have pleased Clement and the fact that the goal arrived on the stroke of half-time just made matters worse.
It won’t mean much in the grand scheme of things, but in a title race with Celtic the Gers cannot afford to continue making any mistakes such as these.
In other Rangers news, a decision made by the club in January could see them double their money in the summer.
