Once again, Scottish Cup weekend is here as Celtic FC Women prepare for their match in the competition’s fourth round.

After winning the trophy twice in the previous several seasons, the Ghirls will look to continue their incredible run of success in the competition when they take on Hamilton Accies on Sunday afternoon.

In the previous season, the Celts defeated Hearts, Boroughmuir Thistle, and Falkirk on route to the final four at Hampden Park.

Jenny Smith, who started for the Edinburgh team in the Hoops’ 6-1 triumph in the capital, was one of the players on the losing side for the Jambos in the quarterfinals.

The midfielder, who is 21 years old, is obviously excited to contribute to the team’s continued success in winning additional trophies after witnessing its recent Scottish Cup triumph.

Speaking to Celtic TV prior to this weekend’s trip to New Douglas Park,

Smith maintains that the team is committed to moving on to the next round of the Scottish Cup in order to return to winning ways in the best possible way.

“Obviously, we won the Scottish Cup last season,” she remarked. Even though I wasn’t a member of the club at the time,

I think it would be beneficial to support the girls this year as we aim to win the cup.

“We want to win cups, of course, and we want to push and win every game, especially in the league.”

“Obviously, a new manager has been appointed. The timetable has adjusted a little, and training has been wonderful.

“In the end, all we want to do is recover from the past few weeks.”

The Ghirls have lost their last two games in the Sky Sports Cup and SWPL, making it a disappointing few weeks for them.

This weekend, the two teams will square off in the SWPL Cup, which will be Elena Sadiku’s team’s third competition in as many games.

Smith thinks that as the team prepares to play Hamilton Accies on Sunday afternoon, they will learn from previous losses.

She declared, “It’s critical that we learn from these games.” Naturally, we wish to support one another.

We are aware of our shortcomings and the need to improve. We are aware that we must now overcome them.

“The level of intensity has been excellent. The girls and the group as a whole are talking about each other a lot. Thus far, it’s functioning pretty well. All we want is to return to our winning ways.
