FSU Football Is Interested in Transferring To An Ivy League Record

No matter the means of acquisition, Florida State is constantly looking for additional talent.

Over the past few years, the Seminoles have added prospects from all different backgrounds,

such as top junior college players, high school recruiters, and experienced players from transfers.

The program searched the FCS for Jared Verse and the D2 level for Kyle Morlock,

dipping into the G5 for Tatum Bethune. It’s a straightforward motto: Florida State will discover you if you’re talented enough.

Over the previous few weeks, the Seminoles have made significant progress in the transfer portal once again.

Having said that, as they get ready for the 2024 campaign, the coaching staff is still looking for a few missing parts.

Emmanuel Adebi, a graduate transfer from Cornell, paid FSU a multi-day unofficial visit over the weekend.

While on campus, he had the opportunity to see a Tour of Duty workout,

interact with the coaching staff, and participate in a picture shoot.

In addition to UMass and Boston College, the Seminoles are now providing him with a preferred walk-on option.

Adebi played four seasons with the Big Red and still has two years left on his eligibility. The COVID-19 epidemic forced the cancellation of his first season, and he redshirted in 2021.

The Delaware native was instrumental in Cornell’s success with their special teams. In just six games in 2022, he led the FCS with four blocked kicks, two of which occurred in the same game. Adebi continued to build on his performance this past season, adding three more blocks to his offensive total of seven catches for 76 yards. Two extra points were stopped by him in a Harvard defeat.

Adebi set a Cornell record with seven blocked extra points, and he did so in just ten games.

For a Florida State squad that has recently taken satisfaction in its special teams play, that kind of production would be quite welcome.

If Adebi decides to play for the Seminoles, it is unknown what position he would play.

The 6-foot-5, 263-pound player played tight end for the majority of his career at Cornell, but he has the size, quickness, and ability to play several positions on either side of the ball.

With 15 athletes coming out of the portal, Florida State has one of the best 2024 classes in the nation.

Adebi would be the Seminoles’ second Ivy League recruit;they had previously signed Harvard offensive lineman transfer Jacob Rizy.
