Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco set to play vs. Ravens despite ankle injury
The Chiefs are back in Kansas City, for whatever reason. Everyone was concerned about the reigning champions at the beginning of the season.
These worries were confirmed in the middle of the season when their group of wide receivers was unable to make a significant contribution.
But when it mattered most, Kansas City was able to turn things around. For the sixth consecutive year, they find themselves
in the AFC Championship Game.
Isiah Pacheco, the Chiefs’ standout running back, is a cause for concern for them heading into their AFCCG matchup with the Ravens.
When the KC offence was having trouble, Pacheco was the anchor that kept everything together. Pacheco is anticipated to
play despite tending to an ankle ailment, according to Adam Schefter.
“Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco, who has an ankle injury and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s AFC Championship
game, will play against the Ravens, according to a source.”
The Chiefs’ rushing attack was one of the offense’s frequent points of contention. Yes, they have had a pretty strong passing offence in previous years.
But an excellent ground game is also necessary to go hand in hand with a brilliant passing offence.
The Chiefs have found a standout running back in Isiah Pacheco, after years of failing to find one.
His “angry” runs, particularly during the postseason, helped the offence get going.
At this point, the Chiefs are officially the gatekeepers to the AFC Championship.
Few teams have been able to knock Kansas City off of their pedestal. However, for the first time in ages, the Chiefs are the underdogs in the AFCCG.
The Ravens have been by far the best team in the NFL. In contrast, while KC has been playing well as of late, their wide receivers continue to be a concern.
The stage is now set for a heavyweight matchup between two former MVPs in Mahomes and Ravens star Lamar Jackson. Who will come out on top?
