Rangers in transfer hunt for Austrian international midfielder wanted by Crystal Palace and Leicester

When everyone is healthy, the Gers have a number of formidable options.

Tom Lawrence and Todd Cantwell are both at ease in the central attacking midfield position,

where Todd Cantwell excels.

However, both have experienced injury problems this season,

as have the most of the players at Ibrox, highlighting the necessity of having excellent backup at every position.

It could be difficult to win if one or more teams make an offer for Seidl given the number of teams vying for him,

especially if Premier League money is involved.

New Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner,

who was in the frame for the Rangers job before Philippe Clement took over,

is Austrian and is thought to be very interested so may well be the favourite to land a deal.

Rangers have been linked to possible additions further back in midfield,

while the question of a striker addition such as Lawrence Shankland will remain prominent,

so it may be that interest in Seidl will have to remain just that. In other Rangers news,

the Gers have been tipped to potentially pull of a “almost impossible” transfer thanks to turmoil at a rival club.

The Light Blues are joined by Old Firm rivals Celtic,

along with an English contingent of Leicester, Fulham, Crystal Palace, Wolves and Burnley,

with Seidl having scored nine and assisted six in all competitions so far this term.
