Borna Barisic ‘to leave’ Rangers as Trabzonspor look for free transfer.

The 31-year-old’s contract expires at the conclusion of the season, and he is free to negotiate a deal.

Borna Barisic is expected to depart Rangers at the end of the season, with Turkish club Trabzonspor leading the race to sign the full back, according to several reports.

The 31-year-old’s agent is expected to head to Turkey to discuss a move with the club, which presently sits third in the Super Lig and already has two of Barisic’s international teammates, Mislav Orsic and ex-Celtic loanee Filip

Benkovic. Barisic, who joined Rangers from Osijek in Steven Gerrard’s debut season six years ago, has one goal this season. However, the left-back has had injury concerns this season, and Ridvan Yilmaz has surpassed him as the first choice in the left full-back position.

Rangers manager Philippe Clement stated last month that “no decision” had been taken regarding his future.

The Belgian added, “I’m not aware of any decision. Borna is preparing well and is eager to play. He has just returned from injury. So he will take his next actions in the coming weeks. “No decision has been made.”
