Richard Keys advises Newcastle to appoint a “unique” manager in order to advance; he is now available.

Richard Keys claims that Newcastle United could have to think about hiring Jose Mourinho as their next head coach at St. James’ Park.

Richard Keys of beIN Sports believes that if Newcastle United wants to ensure championships at St. James’ Park,

they should think about hiring head coach Jose Mourinho.

Under Eddie Howe, the Magpies have had a challenging 2023–24 season.

If they can’t muster their resolve for the remaining games of the campaign,

they may not even qualify for European competition.

Newcastle remain tenth in the Premier League with just ten games of the season to play,

despite clinching a fourth-placed finish last term and consequent qualification for the Champions League.

Mourinho was most recently in charge of AS Roma until being replaced by Daniele De Rossi in January.

Keys calls on Mourinho to take over at Newcastle
Howe’s team has suffered yet another setback this week.

Newcastle is currently 15 points behind Aston Villa in fourth place after Monday’s 3-2 loss at Chelsea.

This means that winning back-to-back Champions League qualifying matches in the final weeks of the 2023–24 season will be nearly impossible.

This season, the Magpies have struggled due to an injury and suspension crisis.

Sandro Tonali was suspended until August 2024 for violating FIFA’s gambling regulations,

and Nick Pope, Kieran Trippier, Joelinton, Alexander Isak,

and Callum Wilson have all missed extended periods of time due to injury.

After Dan Burn and Anthony Gordon were pulled off the field in this week’s loss at Chelsea,

Howe will undoubtedly be worried.

If Newcastle wants to ensure championships at St. James’ Park,

Richard Keys has advised them to appoint Jose Mourinho and doesn’t feel too sorry for the 46-year-old.

The beIN Sports anchor said in a post on X:

Throughout his managerial career, Mourinho has been a consistent winner,

having won two Champions League championships,

two Europa League/UEFA Cups, and one Europa Conference League victory.

The 61-year-old has also won three Premier League titles with Chelsea, one FA Cup,

and three League Cups overall throughout his tenures at Manchester United and Stamford Bridge.

Nicknamed “unique” by Ivan Rakitic, the Portuguese head coach has made a name for himself in England,

and the Newcastle supporters may be excited about his arrival.

Newcastle got ready to support Eddie Howe
The present head coach has a plenty of bank credit.

Despite Eddie Howe’s pressure at St. James’ Park,

journalist Ben Jacobs recently told GIVEMESPORT (6th March) that Newcastle could still be loyal to him.

After taking over as manager of the Magpies in November 2021,

the former AFC Bournemouth manager led the relegation-threatened team to mid-table in his first season and finished fourth the following year.

Despite the unsatisfactory start to the current season,

Jacobs thinks Howe has enough credit to weather the club’s dismal run of play.

He also believes that injuries and suspensions have played a significant role in the team’s decline this season.
