NFL Media reports that Tom Telesco has made a large and quick impact, as the Las Vegas Raiders have reportedly reached an agreement with Christian Wilkins, a top defensive tackle for the Miami Dolphins.

Breaking news: Raiders agree to terms with Dolfins Standout Defensive Tackle

Most league experts regarded Wilkins as one of the top two or three free agents available, regardless of position.

The Miami Dolphins’ decision not to assign Wilkins the franchise tag last week was regarded as unexpected.

Wilkins was apparently being pursued by a number of teams, but Telesco moved fast to land Wilkins with the big contract.

Chris Jones, the top pending free agent, was believed to be of interest to the Raiders; however, on Saturday night, he re-signed with the Chiefs. The next best thing is Wilkins.

Wilkins is the ideal replacement for the much-needed difference maker the Raiders have on the interior defensive line. He earned a career total of nine sacks in 2023 and is regarded as one of the best run stuffers.

With this deal, the Raiders have undoubtedly acquired the elite defensive lineman that head coach Antonio Pierce had expressed his desire for.
