Celtic suffer yet another fresh injury scarce as key star is now doubtful for St Johnstone tie
Hoops can’t seem to catch a break with injuries right now, as Brendan Rodgers struggles on with the bunch he has available as his side chases the Scottish Premiership title.
Yesterday, the Bhoys were forced to make a last-minute substitution,
with Stephen Welsh replacing Cameron Carter-Vickers, who had felt something in training before to our 4-2 success over Livingston.
Rodgers justified the latter’s absence, saying, “It’s just a precaution.” We managed him over the last few weeks,
and he completed a whole 90 last Saturday. He only felt a little something throughout training yesterday. “It was just a really light session.”
Hyunjun Yang was suspended for the Scottish Cup tie after receiving a red card against Heart of Midlothian,
therefore Nicolas Kuhn took on the role of generating creativity from the right side.
Yang, a South Korean international, will also be ineligible to play against St Johnstone this weekend due to a two-match ban.
His positional equivalent may now be given a chance to shine on league duty.
Honduran winger Luis Palma was also ruled out of facing David Martindale’s side after picking up a knock,
leaving the Bhoys’ wide options scant at a critical point in the season.
James Forrest impressed off the bench in the latter stages of yesterday’s game; Rocco Vata,
Republic of Ireland Under-21 international, is also available if needed.
A new injury report for Celtic winger Luis Palma has emerged.
According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic winger Palma is the latest member of Rodgers’ team to suffer a training ground injury,
putting him in jeopardy for the match against St Johnstone this weekend.
According to the story, the Irishman hopes the 24-year-old can recuperate and compete against Craig Levein’s team.
However, Palma may be allowed the international break to fully recover,
as Rodgers is unwilling to take any chances with his health ahead of the season’s final stretch.
Since joining from Aris last summer, the Honduran international has been a consistent contributor in green and white,
recording nine goals and 10 assists in 30 games across all competitions [Transfermarkt].
Daizen Maeda is set to continue on the left after scoring three goals against Livingston.
Regardless, the news that Palma will be out for a longer period of time than expected is not particularly promising.

Hopefully, this is only a matter of time before he returns to the fold, with Celtic already depleted across several positions.
