Pundit says Rangers “will” sign £5m star with right offer who have played in 29 matches and scored 20 Goals

In a recent update, analyst Frank McAvennie suggested that Rangers would recruit Hearts player Lawrence Shankland during the summer transfer season.

Rangers eyeing key attacking business

The Gers may be top of the Scottish Premiership table going into the final few months of the season, but they haven’t necessarily always

had free-flowing attackers throughout the campaign. James Tavernier is his side’s top scorer from right-back, scoring 17 times, with Cyriel

Dessers and Abdallah Sima trailing behind them, albeit still netting 14 times apiece.

It looks as though Rangers’ focus could be on securing the services of some key attacking players in the summer,

with various reports suggesting that that is the case.

Brighton is willing to let Sima go if they receive an offer between £10 and £15 million at the end of the season, and it is actually thought

that a permanent move is at the forefront of their considerations. A different source claims that Fabio Silva, a Portuguese player who has

scored three goals in his first 12 games at Ibrox, may decide to make his loan move permanent.

Away from the present loanees, Shankland has remained at the club for the time being despite rumors that he will join Rangers during the

January transfer window. However, with the 28-year-old having a terrific season and topping the charts

with 20 goals in the league, a move away in the summer could happen.

Rangers “will” sign Shankland with right offer

Speaking to Football Insider, McAvennie claimed that Rangers “will” sign Shankland this summer,

should they bid the right amount for him:

Shankland has to be viewed as a top target for Rangers, depending on what they decide to do with Silva and Sima. His talent clearly shows

what a formidable weapon he might be for Philippe Clement. David Martindale, the manager of Livingston,

has previously praised him, saying:

Shankland, who is 28 years old and seems to be at the top of his game, could join the Rangers right away and have an immediate impact.

Additionally, the fact that he grew up as a fan of the Green Bay Packers should help Rangers beat Celtic to sign him.
