Chiefs’ Chris Jones Sends 2-Word Message To Eagles’ Fletcher Cox

Chris Jones, a star for the Kansas City Chiefs, sent fellow former Mississippi State Bulldog Fletcher Cox a succinct but impactful message.

Chris Jones of the Kansas City Chiefs celebrated the career of one of his rivals the day after he signed a record-

breaking five-year contract worth up to $95 million. On March 4, Jason Kelce, the brother of Chiefs player Travis

Kelce, announced his retirement from the Philadelphia Eagles after 13 seasons.

Fletcher Cox, the defensive tackle for the Eagles, joins Kelce in retiring less than a week later. Jones had a

straightforward message for his fellow graduate from Mississippi State.

Jones wrote on X, formerly Twitter, “Much respect!! @fcoxx_91,” referencing an NFL statement that revealed Cox’s decision on March 10.

Two years prior to Jones’ start, Cox’s Bulldogs stint came to an end.

After playing for the Eagles for his entire 12-year NFL career, Cox retires as a six-time Pro Bowler, one-time All-Pro,

and 2017 Super Bowl champion. Jones and he also engaged in four “head-to-head” matches. Including Super Bowl

LVII, Jones is 3-1 versus his fellow former Bulldog. In Week 11 of the previous season, Cox recorded his first victory in five games against the Chiefs.

After making his declaration, Jones had an even more straightforward message for Kelce: he shared a video of the

Eagles star yelling his name and then shaking hands with an emoji.

Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill Sends Message to Former Teammate Chris Jones

Before the two teams’ matchup of the season, Jones and former Chiefs player Tyreek Hill, now a standout for the

Miami Dolphins, had a cordial back and forth. Following Jones’s new agreement, Hill was once more tagging his friend in posts on social media.

“My boy is happy for his draft buddy Chris,” Hill made a post on March 10 on X.

With the 37th overall choice in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft, Jones was chosen by the Chiefs. They

selected Hill with the No. 165 overall choice in the fifth round, 128 picks later.
