News Report:Former £25 million Everton winger sets to jet out to complete Brazil move if work permit is agreed.
Yannick Bolasie’s Everton career never reached the heights anticipated of him following his £25 million transfer
from Crystal Palace.
Loans to Aston Villa, RSC Anderlecht, Sporting Lisbon, and Middlesbrough came before a free transfer to Caykur
Rizespor. After leaving the Turkish club, the 34-year-old joined Swansea for two months before being released at the
end of January.
And now the former Everton winger is preparing for a new challenge outside of European football.
According to Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano (via X), former Everton star Emmanuel Bolasie has agreed to
sign a pre-contract with Brazilian club Criciuma. Bolasie received his work permit last week and is expected to travel
to Brazil this weekend to complete his move.
It’s an intriguing shift for a guy once touted as the Premier League’s next great thing. Unfortunately, his move to
Goodison Park arguably harmed his career more than it benefited.
Bolasie was most likely a victim of Farhad Moshiri’s reign, joining Everton when the club’s fortunes began to
deteriorate.
His career has stalled as a result of a number of loan periods, and his move to Brazil adds to that. It would not be
shocking if the winger retired pretty soon.
The 34-year-old has happy memories of his time at Goodison Park and recently praised Seamus Coleman’s abilities.
On the FILTHYFELLAS Podcast, he stated: “Seamus Coleman is a good man! Seamus is freezing.
“He’s fast! And strong, madly strong! That is one of the fullbacks I can say when I play against him, it is a true battle
.
“He knows it’s a true battle, but we’re going all out, and he’s trying to take me one way while I’m going the other.
“When I came to Everton, he was saying it was good to finally see you on my side!”
