Ibrox News: Major news on Rangers and permanent sima deal

Rangers would shatter their transfer record to sign Abdallah Sima if they win the championship and receive a large

transfer fund from Champions championship qualification, according to Football Insider sources.

Speaking on the current edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track Podcast, Scottish correspondent Daniel Bowers

stated that the Gers would be willing to pay a club record cost to sign the on-loan player permanently this summer.

Sima’s parent club, Premier League team Brighton, is thought to value him between £10-15 million.

If Rangers pay in the upper range of the Seagulls’ assessment for Sima, they will beat the record set by Tore Andre

Flo’s reported £12 million move from Chelsea in 2000.

Rangers will buy Sima if they win Champions League football.

Prior to his horrific hamstring injury during the African Cup of Nations, the Senegal international was Rangers’ most

prolific attacker.

He has 15 goals and two assists in 33 games across all competitions, but he has been out since January.

According to Football Insider (31 December), Brighton would be willing to move Sima if their price is fulfilled

because he does not fit into their long-term plans and they have plenty of top-level attacking options.

Rangers remain top of the league despite their 2-1 loss to Motherwell on Saturday (2 March) and secured a 2-2 draw

against Benfica in the Europa League on Thursday night (7 March).

They will face Hibernian in the Scottish Cup quarterfinals on Sunday evening (10 March).

In other news, the Rangers have been told to pay a record-breaking amount for a superstar after repeated offers were

refused.
