Ibrox Latest:Club boss throws fuel to the fire with comments on excellent Rangers linked talent.

Rangers’ offensive has recently been significantly reinforced, with the signings of Philippe Clement in January and

Michael Beale last summer.

But that hasn’t stopped Hearts’ Lawrence Shankland from being linked with a move to Ibrox, with each goal he

scores fueling speculation.

And now Hearts chairperson Ann Budge has chimed in on the subject, with her words sure to ignite more debate

about where the in-form striker will play football next season.

This season, the Jambos ace has outperformed all Ibrox strikers, with Shankland scoring 27 goals in all competitions.

Unsurprisingly, the Edinburgh club is doing everything possible to extend his stay in the city, with Budge discussing

his contract with Sky Sports: “We will try, as I’m sure everyone knows, and we will continue to try.

“Clearly, we enjoy having Lawrence here; he’s a great character to have around. And, if possible, we will keep him,

but the decision will mostly be his.

“He will have his own vision for where he wants his career to go. Does he want to stay in Scotland or try something

else? At the end of the day, we’ll do our best, and time will tell if we succeed.

Can the Rangers persuade Lawrence Shankland to come to Ibrox?

Hearts certainly want the player to commit his future to the club, but Rangers may have other plans, with the

prospect of playing regular European games at Ibrox potentially entice the striker to go to Glasgow.

Philippe Clement, on the other hand, will not be paying much attention to any transfer rumors right now, as Benfica

is his top concern at the moment.

The Gers travel to Portugal to take on the European heavyweights in a round of 16 first leg clash on Thursday (7 March).

In other Rangers news, one Gers star has sent a message from his hospital bed in a fresh injury update.
