Celtic player suddenly agrees move away from club – Surprise transfer for all involved

Hoops fullback Alexandro Bernabei is on his way to Brazil, according to South American media reports.

Journalists Cesar Luis Merlo and German Garcia Grova both say the 23-year-old is ready to join with Internacional.

There haven’t been many facts released about this transfer yet because it caught everyone off guard. Merlo was the first to report on it, claiming’sources from Scotland’ told him it was a done deal.

A minute later, Grova announced that Celtic had loaned Bernabei to Inter, so we’ll see.

The teenager had received limited playing time in Scotland this season. He played 429 minutes in nine appearances, but despite a short streak of starts this year, he was neglected in the last few matches.

Celtic spent €4.35 million to recruit Bernabei from Lanus in 2022. Transfermarkt now values him at just €2 million,

and he has a contract with the Hoops until 2027.

Brendan Rodgers plainly did not have a place for him in the starting eleven, therefore it appears that there are new opportunities after Celtic.
