No fewer than five players who’ve been linked to Rangers in recent transfer windows were on the pitch as Arsenal dismantled Sheffield United. This season,
the Gunners are in a three-way race for the Premier League crown, with Liverpool and Manchester City posing serious opposition.
The North London team, led by former Rangers midfielder Mikel Arteta,
has a history of dominating opponents, and Arsenal was once again firing on all cylinders when they visited Bramall Lane.
The Blades destroyed Sheffield United 6-0 on their own turf,
and Rangers supporters will recognize a number of the players in the lineup.
Targets for the Rangers move blown away Auston Trusty,
a former Arsenal defender, played against his old team in the match,
and the Sheffield United player was utterly humiliated by the Gunners.
But there was a lot of discussion of a move to Rangers before a £5 million summer move to Bramall Lane,
but it never happened, most likely because of the inflated transfer fee.
James McAtee, a midfielder for Sheffield United on loan from Manchester City,
was also heavily connected to a January 2022 loan move to Rangers.
Rangers supporters will also be familiar with the name of former Everton player Tom Davies,
who signed with the Blades after being released by the Goodison Park team.Even last season,
former manager Michael Beale was questioned about connections to the midfield player,
but a possible transfer never happened.

who has spent his entire career connected to Ibrox, and former Coventry midfielder Gustavo Hamer,
who was linked to Rangers while he was with the Sky Blues.
Comparing the success of Sheffield United and Arsenal
The Sheffield United team’s afternoon against Arsenal was utterly dehumanizing,
and maybe Rangers supporters will be relieved that the team chose not to pursue these five choices.
Despite their talent, the Blades are in a terrible situation this season, sitting eleven points from safety at the basement of the Premier League.
In the match against the Premier League’s worst team,
Arsenal led 5-0 at the break thanks to goals from Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, Martin Odegaard, Jayden Bogle (OG), and Gabriel Martinelli.

moving Arsenal up to third place, one point ahead of Man City in second,
