Update:Suspect in Kansas City parade shooting appears in court.

Kansas City, Missouri (NBC, KYMA/KECY) Lyndell Mays, one of two men charged with second-degree murder in the

shooting that occurred following the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade, appeared in Jackson County Circuit

Court on Tuesday.

For the first time, Mays’ attorney, John Reed, came in court with him. The judge granted Reed’s request to

reschedule Mays’ bond hearing for Monday, March 11, at 1:30 pm Central.

Mays did not present for a previously scheduled bond-review hearing in Jackson County Circuit Court on February

29 due to a hospital readmission. According to the court, the hearing was originally scheduled for Monday, March 4,

but was postponed to Tuesday after May’s public defender failed to show.

In addition to the second-degree murder allegation, Mays is also charged with unauthorized use of a firearm and two

counts of armed criminal action for his role in the shooting that killed Lisa Lopez-Galvan and injured over two dozen

people, including Mays.

Dominic Miller, another guy, has been charged with the same charges. Miller was also injured in the February 14

incident and has yet to be released from the hospital. He does not have a mugshot since he has not been booked into

jail.
