£21m midfielder has just ‘been offered’ to Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest are exploring a number of deals this summer transfer window.

Nuno Espirito Santo wants to add strength in depth this window, with Nottingham Forest set to face a congested fixture list next term.

Forest will often be playing on Thursdays and Sundays, so there is a pressing need to significantly bulk up the squad.

Espirito Santo has already made Igor Jesus his first signing of the window, and Jair Cunha could be following him to the City Ground.

Now, after speaking exclusively to journalist Graeme Bailey, we understand the club have been offered a midfielder on the continent.

Nottingham Forest offered AC Milan midfielder Yunus Musah

Over the weekend, it was reported that Nottingham Forest were exploring a deal to sign Yunus Musah, who AC Milan value at around £21m.

Now, Bailey has exclusively told Nottingham Forest News that the Tricky Trees have been offered the USA international.

“Forest are not in a massive hurry for centre midfielders,” Bailey explained. “I do know that Musah has been offered to Forest.

“They’ve been made aware of his situation, and that’s as far as it’s gone at the moment. There’s a lot going on at AC Milan with Allegri going in there now and he’s going to be changing the guard, so it’s not going to be a surprise to see a few Milan players become available, and he might very well be one of them.

“But as it stands, it’s more that Forest have been made aware of him and are being offered him.”

Forest are currently happy with their midfield options

We understand that Forest are pretty happy with their midfield options ahead of the new season, however, they’re open to signing one.

If the terms are right, and the opportunity is too good to turn down, Evangelos Marinakis will sanction a transfer.

Indeed, Musah could well fall into that category given his experience in European competitions, which will be important as the club navigate their way through the Conference League.

The Milan star is also a slightly different profile to what Espirito Santo already has, as he’s statistically one of the best ball carriers on the continent.

So Musah is certainly one to watch.
