Cameron Carter-Vickers did not make an impression at Tottenham Hotspur, but he has performed so well at Celtic that he is now being compared to Liverpool centre-back Virgil van Dijk.
Tottenham Hotspur sold Cameron Carter-Vickers to Celtic in the summer of 2022, after the USA international center defender impressed on loan at Celtic Park in 2021-22.

Carter-Vickers progressed through Tottenham’s development academy but was unable to establish himself in the main squad.
The 26-year-old American defender was frequently moved out on loan. On loan from Tottenham, he played for Sheffield United, Swansea City, Luton Town, and Bournemouth.
So far, the defender has won two Scottish Premiership titles, two Scottish League Cups, and one Scottish Cup with the Bhoys.

Carter-Vickers is so highly regarded by the Sky Sports analyst that he has compared him to Liverpool and Netherlands international centre-back Virgil van Dijk.
Van Dijk is a world-class defender who has helped Liverpool win the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.
Boyd stated on Sky Sports News (1:10 p.m., March 2, 2024) that Carter-Vickers will be ready again for Celtic. “It is big. You mentioned Van Dijk and how he allows Liverpool to play;
Carter-Vickers does the same by allowing Celtic to play higher up the pitch. He covers so much ground because of his fast pace.”
Carter-Vickers was linked with a return to Tottenham in the summer of 2023, after the North London club hired Ange Postecoglou as head coach. Postecoglou hailed from Celtic.
Nothing materialized, and I don’t think that Tottenham are going to bring the defender to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium anytime soon.
