The top defensive and offensive lineman on the West Coast will be re-signed by the Cowboys.

Texas’s Frisco Tyron Smith, an offensive tackle, is not likely to be re-signed by the Dallas Cowboys, sources say.

Smith and Zach Martin have been the cornerstones of the offensive line since their 2011 first-round draft selection by the Cowboys.

At the NFL scouting combine, the 33-year-old’s agent allegedly spoke with Cowboys executives, and the two sides had a significant salary difference.

Despite playing 14 games last season and earning a spot on the second team All-Pro, Smith has struggled with injuries in the past few years. Since 2015, he hasn’t participated in a complete season.

The Cowboys selected Tyler Smith in the 2022 draft with the intention of using him as Smith’s left tackle replacement.

However, Smith spent much of last season at left guard, so it’s not obvious if the team would want to shift him given his success on the interior of the line.

This information follows Jerry Jones, the owner of the Cowboys, announcing that the team would go “all in” during the 2024 offseason.
