Dallas Cowboys are exploring pass rusher trade with NFC East rival after Micah Parsons’ comments
According to reports, the Dallas Cowboys are open to making an offseason trade for a pass rusher on the Philadelphia Eagles roster.
The prospective trade would occur during an offseason in which Cowboys star Edge Micah Parsons has been critical of the team’s
defensive components.Parsons states that he hopes to see more depth on the defensive line and at linebacker for the defense. He needs
assistance on the inner defensive line. Parsons’ remarks primarily highlight his need for assistance applying pressure to the opposing
offensive line.
The Dallas Cowboys would like to exchange for an Edge
Sports Illustrated’s Mike Fisher reports that the Cowboys are considering a trade for seasoned pass rusher Haason Reddick.
“An NFL source confirms to CowboysSI.com that the Dallas Cowboys are seriously considering their options for signing Reddick.
Dallas and Jacksonville are mentioned by our source as clubs that are “interested” in making a trade since they,
too, have “respect” for
Reddick. (We haven’t verified the rumors above, but they involve Detroit, Houston, and New England.)”
Reddick was recently granted permission by the Eagles to pursue a trade. Reddick wants an extension, and the Eagles are acting in an
attempt to resolve their cap concerns. Dallas also has issues with caps.
Reddick on the other side of Parsons would greatly improve the Cowboys’ defensive pass rush. But with Parsons on the last year of his
rookie contract, Reddick’s expense might not be worth it for Dallas either. Soon after giving Dak Prescott a bag, the Cowboys will have
to give him a ton of cap.
