Lakers Injury Report: Against the Wizards, LA Switched Out Cam Reddish in the Second Quarter
Thursday night, the Los Angeles Lakers maintained their winning streak with a highly spirited victory over the Washington Wizards. It wasn’t for the weak of heart, though, as they faced one of the NBA’s poorest teams in overtime.
To their credit, the teams’ legs weren’t entirely under them because the game was played on the second night of a back-to-back. However, the Lakers experienced another injury scare midway through the game, with forward Cam Reddish this time.
Reddish was taken out of the game during the second quarter, and Lakers head coach Darvin Ham gave an explanation. He explained that it was because of some ankle soreness, so they removed him from the game as a precaution.
The Lakers are being cautious with Reddish because he recently returned to the starting lineup following a protracted absence due to injury. They wanted to be cautious because they can’t afford for him to miss too much time.
He is now one of their more crucial players, particularly when it comes to defense. With Reddish in the lineup, the Lakers already don’t have a lot of wing depth, so losing him would be even more detrimental to the club.
It is hoped that this injury won’t prevent him from playing much, if at all. It’s encouraging that the team was checking on him, and as the last stretch of the season approaches, they need Reddish to have an impact.
