‘Sellable’ Rangers man finished at Ibrox, £5m transfer mooted – Stevie Clifford Ibrox News

After this summer’s European Championships, Stevie Clifford has stated that he expects Ianis Hagi to be moved.

He also believes Hagi will never play for Rangers again.

The Romanian midfielder, who is playing in La Liga on loan with Deportivo Alaves, has not been well during his time in

Spain; in 14 league games, he has only managed to record one assist.

Hagi’s contract at Ibrox expires in two and a half years, but Clifford predicts Philippe Clement will want to offload the 25-

year-old at the end of the campaign for a possible £5 million.

“I wouldn’t think so, I believe he is a sellable asset and in the summer we will probably have to sell a few and

regroup that squad, and he is probably one that we would look and say we’ve got some value there,”

he remarked in a video posted on the Rangers Review YouTube channel on February 1 at 22:20.

“As far as I know, we were not able to get him back in January, so I doubt Hagi will be wearing a Rangers uniform when he returns.

If he does well in the Euros and we are able to acquire £5 million for him, we should thank him for 55 and shake his hand.

After a dismal start to the season under Michael Beale, Rangers supporters were clamouring for the Light Blues to call up

Hagi from his loan spell in Spain a few months ago. They believed he would increase the team’s chances of winning the

championship.

It has only taken a few weeks for the majority of people to conclude that the Romanian international is done playing in

Glasgow, and it now appears doubtful that he will ever suit up for the Gers once more.

Hagi is a sellable asset due to his age and international status; should he do well in Germany,

the Light Blues may be able to fetch a fair price. Hagi may play in this summer’s Euros.

When the season is coming to a finish, this can be something to watch, particularly if Hagi starts to perform well.
