Kansas City Chiefs Star Projected To Make $28.4 Million Per Season In Next Contract

According to Spotrac’s market value tool, Jones is expected to earn $85 million over three years.

This equates to $28.4 million based on an average annual salary. Jones, who will be 30 years old in July, led the

Chiefs with 10.5 sacks, 29 quarterback hits, and 13 tackles for loss.

According to The Athletic, there is “growing optimism” that both sides will reach an agreement to keep Jones in

Kansas City for the long term. On Tuesday, General Manager Brett Veach stated that Jones’ re-signing is the team’s

primary priority.

They recently released Marques Valdez-Scantling, freeing up $12 million in cap space. Kansas City is also anticipated

to franchise tag L’Jarius Sneed and has not ruled out the possibility of a sign-and-trade.

While the Chiefs still have time to engage with Jones and his management team about re-signing, they only have

until March 11th before all other clubs can begin contract talks with unrestricted free agents.

After screaming “We ain’t done yet” at this year’s Super Bowl parade, Jones appears to be planning to re-sign and

compete for a third consecutive championship. However, there is a possibility that neither party will reach an

agreement, and he will be a free agent. Multiple teams are banking on this reality and will have the option to make

offers if Kansas City fails to re-sign him before March 11th.
