Exclusive: Celtic accept £3.5m offer for the transfer of Israeli international
According to Football Insider, Celtic are now open to receiving bids for winger Liel Abada during the summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old is reported to be uneasy in Parkhead as a result of severe personal concerns related to the current Israel- Palestine conflict.
A reliable source has informed Football Insider that there is a feeling within the club that Abada wishes to go.
According to sources, the Hoops are unlikely to stand in his way when the window opens this summer.
However, Celtic are eager to return the £3.5 million fee they paid to sign the two-time Scottish Premiership winner in 2021.
Celtic ready to let Abada go – they want a sum of £3.5 million or more
It is believed that the Hoops are in a strong position to get that price since Abada signed a new four-year contract with the club in September, barely a month after conflict broke out in his native Israel.
Despite Celtic’s warnings, the Green Brigade, the biggest supporter organization at Parkhead, has routinely carried Palestinian flags aloft during games.
Abada has made 11 appearances across all competitions in the 2023-24 season, scoring one goal and assisting once, but he has missed the last three Scottish Premiership games.
Brendan Rodgers, Celtic’s manager, has revealed that the winger is “not in the right frame of mind to play”.
He has 29 goals and 22 assists in 112 games for Celtic since joining three years ago.
