Finally, the transfer battle for much sought-after Stoke City players was won by Aston Villa.
The most recent team to be reported to have expressed interest in teenage Stoke City midfielder Sol Sidibe is Aston Villa. John Percy of the Telegraph reported the connection and disclosed that other teams had also made inquiries about the Potters talent. The England youth international, who was born in Paris, has played frequently for Stoke’s senior team in the last two seasons despite only turning 18 in February. Similar interest from clubs higher up the pyramid at this time a year ago was followed by Villa’s this summer.
