Just In:Oscar cortes Rangers  Injury Update

Philippe Clement has offered an injury update for Rangers winger Oscar Cortes.

The on-loan Lens attacker had a good game at Rugby Park as the league leaders kept their two-point lead over Celtic with a comeback victory.

Danny Armstrong’s early opener for Killie was canceled out by James Tavernier and Tom Lawrence,

as the championship contenders produced a superb second-half display to take all three points in Ayrshire.

Cortes had a mixed game, receiving some change from Killie right-back Joe Wright, but the muscular defender also got the best of the Colombian.

The 20-year-old then went down with an apparent hamstring injury, so Clement took no chances and replaced him with Scott Wright.

Following the contest, the Belgian issued a brief update. He replied: “No (we don’t know), not yet. That assessment must be made tomorrow or the following day.

“To make really good choices we have a lot of games, so we’ll see if he was tired or it was more.”

Clement called the victory’massive’ in the title race.

Rangers have already lost to Killie and Celtic, so it’s clear how formidable an opponent the Premiership’s fourth-placed team is as Derek McInnes and his men pursue European football.

“It was a big one because we knew this was a difficult place to go,” the Belgian told BBC Sport.

“All credit to Kilmarnock, who only lost once to us at Ibrox in 14 games. You know, the circumstances make it difficult to play the football we want to play, so winning is huge,

as is winning the game with the fantastic mindset that all of the players shown, both starting and coming in.

“What statement does that convey? That our team is incredibly resilient, even when things don’t go your way;

a penalty against at the start, and Kilmarnock can play their favorite game of sitting and waiting for our mistakes.

Then reacting like way in the second half is significant.
