Ferguson expects ‘Excellent’ ace to leave Rangers, Clement likes him
Derek Ferguson claims that Leon Balogun will be leaving Rangers this summer, even though Philippe Clement is obviously fond of him.
Journalist Joshua Barrie of Rangers Review stated on February 22 that he would be shocked if the seasoned center back signed a new contract at Ibrox, as his current one expires at the end of June.
Although the 35-year-old has made 11 appearances in the Scottish Premiership this season since returning from QPR in the summer, Clement has favored pairings with John Souttar and Connor Goldson.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, former Rangers player Ferguson called Balogun “excellent” and “fantastic,” but he also acknowledged that Clement might move him on to make room for new players in the summer.
“We’ve been really pleased with him, and the manager seems to think the same way.” Once more, I believe he’s improving,” he remarked.
“The manager is attempting to bring in his own men, which will likely free up an additional salary.” He has been great, so if he does go, it will be with our approval.
“That’s not just at the park; in my opinion, it’s also in the dressing room, which is behind the scenes. I don’t think he’ll sign another contract because of his age, perhaps.
At Ibrox, will Leon Balogun sign a new contract with the Rangers?
Popular figures like Balogun can have a big impact on a team. He is well-liked in the Ibrox stands as well as in the locker room with his teammates.
Unfortunately, Clement isn’t getting any younger, and he will want to continue developing his own team at Ibrox.
In the summer, Leon Balogun rejoined the Rangers.
It implies that, despite being a well-liked character, it makes sense to let go of Balogun this summer because he is 35 years old and without a contract.
All of this suggests that the Rangers most likely won’t present Balogun with a new deal in the summer.
