Wrexham Smash Financial Records – Now, Can Birmingham City Keep Up the Heat?

Wrexham have increased their turnover to £26.7m – a 155 percent increase on what they achieved during the last financial year.

The Welsh club are backed by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney and have managed to secure lucrative sponsorship deals with the likes of United Airlines and HP.

Wrexham still posted a loss of £2.7m for the 12-month period ending June 2024, but that was an improvement on the previous year where they lost £5.1m.

Given the financial clout Wrexham now have, it’s no surprise they are competing at the right end of the League One table.

They revamped their forward line in January with the acquisitions of Sam Smith from Reading and former Premier League marksman Jay Rodriguez from Burnley.

All eyes are now on league leaders Birmingham City whose accounts are due to reach Companies House imminently.

Documents are expected to be filed on the Companies House website in the next week to reveal the financial headlines from Knighthead’s first season in charge.

We should learn how much Blues paid to sack managers John Eustace and Wayne Rooney, plus the benefit of some of the commercial deals Knighthead have managed to negotiate.

US-based apparel brand Undefeated have been associated with Blues since 2023, but other big-name brands, such as Delta Airlines, have only come on board this season.
