Premier League confirm massive change to summer transfer window for Nottingham Forest
The Premier League has issued a statement on a major change to the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Premier League has confirmed its clubs, including Nottingham Forest, have voted in favour of two transfer windows this summer.
The initial transfer window will open on June 1 and remain so until June 10. It will then reopen on June 16 before closing on September 1.
In a statement, the Premier League said: “Premier League clubs have today agreed the dates for the summer 2025 transfer window.
“The window will open early, between Sunday 1 June and Tuesday 10 June, due to an exceptional registration period relating to the FIFA Club World Cup.
“It will then reopen on Monday 16 June and close on Monday 1 September.”
There had been suggestions that closing the transfer window before next season starts was also on the table at a meeting of Premier League clubs on Thursday.
The Premier League have previously confirmed the 2025/26 season will start on Saturday, August 16. The campaign will reach its conclusion on Sunday, May 24, 2026.
In a statement, the Premier League said: “The Premier League 2025/26 season dates have been confirmed, with the opening match round starting on Saturday 16 August 2025. The final match round will be played on Sunday 24 May 2026, when all matches will kick off simultaneously as usual.
“The schedule continues to allow more rest time for players over the festive match-round period, with no two rounds taking place within 60 hours of each other. This is in keeping with commitments made to clubs to address the congested Christmas and New Year schedule.”
