Following UEFA’s allegation against the team, Rangers issued an incensed statement regarding a

Union Bears performance.

The ultras group that put up the flag during last week’s Europa League quarterfinal second leg

against Fenerbahce has come under fire from Ibrox officials.

The club has acknowledged that the regulatory body of European football has charged them for the

fan display.

The Premiership team has revealed a slew of penalties the team has been facing in recent weeks.

They face another UEFA charge for obstructing spectators’ walkways, and they also run the possibility

of having their Premier Sports Cup funding for pyrotechnics displays at Celtic Park on Sunday further reduced.

“Everyone connected to Rangers football club will surely have enjoyed the past two weeks, as the

men’s first team has produced some memorable results both domestically and overseas,” the

statement said.

“The support of Rangers supporters has been crucial to these events, and the world has once

again noticed the incredible fervour the club’s supporters bring to these significant occasions.

However, the fact that the club will now be subject to severe penalties for the activities of a very

small minority is extremely disheartening and, to be honest, shameful.

“To start, UEFA has penalised the club after a few fans flew what they call a “racist and/or discriminatory flag” during last Thursday’s match against Fenerbahce at Ibrox.

“As a forward-thinking, contemporary football team, Rangers takes great pride in its diversified

roster, staff, and supporters. It is disgraceful for the club to face such charges in 2025, and the

vast majority of our supporters will share their contempt for those involved.
