Brendan Rodgers’ Warning Ignored as Celtic Leaks Continue
Another Celtic team leak before of Sunday’s Glasgow Derby would infuriate Brendan Rodgers.
Rumours circulated that Callum McGregor and Auston Trusty would not be included in the team
little under three hours prior to kickoff on Sunday. These rumours soon proved to be accurate, potentially providing Rangers with a tactical edge before the match.

Rodgers has previously expressed his dissatisfaction, and this is not the first time it has occurred.
When the same problem arose in November, Rodgers took a hard line against the insider who was disclosing his starting lineups.
He commented at the time: “As a manager, I can tell you that I’ve had that before with other teams,
but it might feel great for someone’s ego to put it out and pass it on to other people.” Since I learnt
about it, I have developed a strategy to play against the team, which has really aided my training.
Therefore, if the person releasing it is a Celtics player, you are not a Celtic supporter because you
are not aiding Celtic. That is all there is to it. We’ll try our best to find out if you’re not a Celtics fan.
When the same issue recurs four months later, Rodgers will be seeking explanations.
Knowing your opponent’s lineup in advance enables you to make tactical last-minute modifications
at any level of football.
Rangers had more time to modify their strategy after learning that McGregor and Trusty would not be playing.
Whoever is to blame is only harming Celtic, and that isn’t on.
Expect considerably more pressure now if Rodgers was already eager to learn where the leaks came
from in December.
Since disclosing the team before to a derby only helps the opposition, everyone with privileged information should keep it to themselves.
Like many others, CeltsAreHere was aware of the rumour but decided not to spread it.
