Following their loss to Coventry City, Sunderland appears to have benefited from the international break.

Because of the connections Sunderland has made with national teams, Régis Le Bris is optimistic

that the squad will carefully manage its players during the international break.

Numerous young players from Sunderland are leaving for international duty, including Dennis

Cirkin and Eliezer Mayenda, who were called up to their U21 team for the first time. Although it

gives the Black Cats a problem as they attempt to manage their players’ workload in what has been

a very demanding season, it is a major source of pride for the team and the participating players.

The 3-0 loss to Coventry City heightened worries about squad depletion, as Le Bris acknowledged

that his players appeared “exhausted” in a concerning performance. The club hopes that those who

are remaining on Wearside during the break will be on specially designed programs that will put them

in the best possible shape for the final stretch.
“We will have many players away with the international teams so it will be quite a small group here,”

Le Bris stated.
“I believe it will be a terrific opportunity to manage these individuals on an individual basis. For them,

a customised program may be available.

“Kristian and the coaches can speak with the national teams and their coaches, but it’s difficult to

control the players when they act out. More often than not, the conversations have been pretty good since the start of the season. I’m hoping that this will happen again since it’s been extremely good.”
