John Eustace reveals yet another injury set-back for luckless Derby County man
Ryan Nyambe has suffered another injury set-back, without even getting on the pitch against Plymouth Argyle.
The Derby County defender was named in the squad at Home Park but was not used when right wing back Kane Wilson came off with a quarter of an hour remaining.
The Rams went on to win 3-2, thanks to a late strike from Marcus Harness – his second of the game – but were left counting the cost of another issue for their Namibian full back.
Speaking after the game John Eustace confirmed what happened with BBC Radio Derby : “He got injured in the warm up unfortunately with Kane [Wilson] going off he would have been the perfect replacement. He has got a slight muscle injury which is very frustrating and something we have got to get to the bottom of.”
Nyambe has endured an interrupted campaign having missed three months with a knee ligament injury before returning in the New Year.
He played 90 minutes against QPR, Millwall and Middlesbrough before missing the Blackburn game with a hamstring problem on March 8. Eustace said after that match Nyambe would be out for a ‘couple of weeks’ but he returned to face Coventry just a few days later.
Wilson himself is only recently back from a hamstring problem and was taken off in the 74th minute against Argyle, with Sondre Langas coming on.
