Rangers injury news and return dates

ahead of Kilmarnock as 5 remain out

The most recent information on Rangers

injuries and possible return dates as

Philippe Clement’s team gets ready to

play Kilmarnock at Rugby Park this

evening.

It will be a difficult match when Rangers

resume their Scottish Premiership title

challenge this evening. The hosts,

Kilmarnock, are in Ayrshire, and the last

few years haven’t been kind to the Gers’

hunting grounds.

Out of the last 12 encounters at Rugby

Park, the club has only defeated Killie

four times since returning to the top

division in 2016 [Fitbastats].

Derek McInnes is an excellent manager

who is adept at positioning his team.

Rangers could lose this game handily, but

Philippe Clement and his players will be

optimistic about the outcome.

Here is the most recent Rangers injury

update, and Clement is happy to report

that there were no new absences from

Saturday’s crushing triumph over Hearts.

Kilmarnock vs. Rangers injury report

The Rangers’ locker room isn’t as packed

right now as it was earlier in the season.

There are five players who are

undoubtedly out of the Kilmarnock

match, but the majority of these are long-

term injuries.

Since Ryan Jack is not injured, he is not

listed on the following list. He might not

make the matchday roster, though, as

Clement continues to oversee his

recuperation.

Rabbi Matondo’s most

recent injury

A minor muscular ailment is keeping

Rabbi Matondo out of commission at the

moment. The winger hasn’t been seen

since the issue was discovered during the

victory against Ross County at Ibrox on

February 14.

Since then, Clement hasn’t provided an

update on Matondo, so it’s quite likely

that the Welshman will miss the

Kilmarnock match.

Two games missed following an injury

Anticipated date of return: Unknown

Abdallah Sima’s most recent injuries

Rangers wide player Abdallah Sima was

playing well until suffering a

devastating thigh injury against Senegal

at the 2023 AFCON.

When Gers defeated Dumbarton in the

Scottish Cup on January 20, that

heartbreaking news was verified, and

not much has been said about his

development since.

Sima had thigh surgery, and Clement did

mention at the end of January that he

will miss “two to three months” of play.

Eight games missing since the injury

Anticipated comeback date: Late March

or April

Danilo injury latest

The Brazilian attacker is sidelined for an

extended period of time due to injury; he

last appeared for Rangers on December 6

in an away victory over Hearts.

He suffered a significant knee injury in

Edinburgh that kept him out of the game

for the better part of the season—four

months, to be exact.

16 games missed since the injury

Date of anticipated return: early April

Kieran Dowell’s latest injury

Although Kieran Dowell has

demonstrated that he can be a

productive player for Rangers, the

midfielder has had difficulty staying

healthy this year.

The former Norwich City player hasn’t

been seen since his last Gers game

against Kilmarnock on January 2. This is

due to an injury he sustained while

working out at La Manga with the

Rangers during the mid-season winter

break.

After a successful surgery, he was

sidelined for two months and is

currently recuperating.
