Swansea City manager quits after less than a year in command.
Jamie Sherwood has quit as manager of Swansea City.
Sherwood, who formerly managed Yeovil Town in the WSL, joined Swansea in May 2024,
succeeding Chris Church.
Despite an early South Wales Derby victory over Cardiff City at the Swansea.com Stadium,
Sherwood has had a disastrous spell in charge.
Swansea City finished fifth for the first time in his career, missing out on the top four and the Adran Premier title.
Sherwood was not on the sidelines for Swansea’s 2-1 victory over Cardiff Met on Sunday.
Yzzy Taylor took charge of that game, and she will lead the team until the end of the season.
Swansea City Women can confirm that Jamie Sherwood has resigned his post as first-team manager by mutual agreement.
“Sherwood took over the role in May 2024, having previously coached Yeovil Town Women,
Cardiff City Ladies, and Bridgwater United Women.”
“He leaves Swansea City Women, who are now seventh in the Genero Adran Premier with four games remaining.
“The club would like to record its appreciation to Jamie for his efforts while in charge.
“Yzzy Taylor, assistant manager, will serve as interim head coach.
“The 31-year-old is also a part of the Wales Women Under-19s’ coaching team, a role she will
continue alongside her duties with the Swans.”
